Walking With the Wise

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

At this age and time, it seems as if things are becoming worse and worse. We find ourselves losing who we truly are, and drifting back into the place that God graciously delivered us from. As a new Christian, it can be understandably hard to live up to God’s expectation. You can ask any older Christian, and they will most likely tell you that they have been in some sort of trial of their own. These trials can be pretty tough but have no fear! God has a plan! God gives us these trials so we can grow our faith. However, you don’t have to endure this on your own.

God guides people into our lives to help us grow towards him.

However, at times it might seem like your the only one who has stayed true to God. Take Elijah, as an example. Elijah was at the point where he just gave up. He believed that he was the only one who even bothered to continue worshiping The Lord. Then The Lord spoke to him, and said, “I have 7,000 prophets that have not bowed their knee to Baal,” (I Kings 19:18).

As you grow, try to find someone (perhaps a fellow church member, or a local Christian organization) that can encourage you to be all that God wants you to be.

Once you leave the worldly things behind, such as an old group of friends that cause negativity and strife, you will find yourself drawing closer and closer to God and creating the closeness that you desire!
